GLOBAL HEART Spiritual Center began when a group of ten people came together over the course of 18 months to meditate, pray, and vision for a new spiritual community. At that time we weren't sure what it would be called, where it would be located, or if it would have services on Sundays.

This circle became our spiritual family and the weekly Saturday morning meetings became a nourishing experience of entering deeply into the Presence of Spirit. Before long, group members spontaneously began to tithe toward the creation of a formal organization. Eventually that money seeded our work with Church Development Systems, a nonprofit ministry that has assisted hundreds of North American congregations to develop a strategic vision of how to be vital faith communities.

With their guidance and facilitation, we identified and defined our Core Values, Mission, and Vision. These tools assisted us to see more clearly who we were, what our unique ministries could be, and to commit to them. Additionally, this created a foundation of clarity to support us in conscious, productive decision–making.

We consider ourselves an omni–faith community. This means that our intention is to learn about and celebrate the deepest truths taught in the world's enduring spiritual traditions, as well as those common to New Thought. At their deepest levels of spiritual realization, we believe these all embrace similar principles. Annually we celebrate a variety of holidays from these traditions.

Ritual and ceremony are important to us. We know that deep meaning is held and carried quite beyond our everyday linear mode of being when people come together to honor, celebrate, acknowledge, commemorate, and commit. Weddings and spiritual baptisms are common. A weekly candle-lighting ritual in our Sunday service reminds us of our oneness with all that is. Other ceremonies and rituals are developed to meet the needs of the season or the community throughout the year.

We opened our doors in September of 2005, and are currently in the process of becoming an official member organization of the United Centers for Spiritual Living, whose Home Office is in Denver, CO. Our practitioners are licensed through UCSL and our entire SOM class curriculum for adults and children has been developed by UCSL.

We are governed by a five member Core Council that meets monthly. These individuals are all members of GLOBAL HEART who have completed Foundations class (at a minimum) and who have demonstrated their commitment through their participation in sacred service with GHSC as well as through their financial tithe. Each Core Council member serves a three-year term and is appointed or elected according to the Bylaws governing GHSC. Our Core Council is available to member input and relies upon our Visioning Core for guidance on a number of decisions, thus insuring that we remain focused on our Mission and Vision and rooted in our Core Values.

The last important thing to know about us is that we are an open, affirming congregation and organization. Religious Science has always been a faith of inclusion. Long before it was common to do so, our founder, Ernest Holmes, ordained women and gay and lesbian ministers. All people are part of the One and are welcome.

Whoever you are, and wherever you may be on your journey of faith, you are welcome here.
